Kids Fly a Plane for the First Time

What if your child—or grandchild—had the opportunity to sit in a cockpit… and actually fly a plane?

Not watch.
Not pretend.
Fly.

That’s exactly what we experienced through “Eyes Above The Horizon,” an incredible program led by Legacy Flight Academy and hosted at Bario Aviation.

And it’s something we believe every community should have access to.

A Moment They’ll Never Forget

From the moment the students arrived, you could feel it—anticipation, curiosity, excitement.

But what unfolded throughout the day was so much more than just an aviation experience.

These students weren’t just learning about planes…

They were stepping into a new level of confidence.
They were being introduced to possibilities they may have never imagined.
And for many of them, this was the first time they could truly see themselves doing something extraordinary.

Then came the moment that changed everything.

They stepped into the aircraft.
They took their seat.
And with a certified instructor beside them…

They flew.

Why This Matters More Than You Think

Programs like Eyes Above The Horizon go far beyond aviation.

They introduce young people to:

  • STEM and aviation careers
  • Real-world, hands-on learning
  • Confidence-building experiences
  • Exposure that can shape their future

But most importantly…

They shift what a child believes is possible for their life.

And that kind of shift?
It’s powerful.

Imagine This in Houston

While this experience took place outside of Houston, it left us asking one important question:

Why not here?

In a city as diverse, fast-growing, and opportunity-driven as Houston, programs like this could have an incredible impact on our communities here in Houston, especially in areas like Humble, Atascocita, and the Lake Houston region—where families like ours are raising the next generation.

This is exactly the kind of experience that:

  • Strengthens communities
  • Supports youth development
  • Creates future leaders
  • Enhances the lifestyle families are looking for

Because when families consider where to live, they’re not just looking at homes…

They’re looking at opportunity.

Real Estate Is About More Than Homes

At Sucré Realty, we believe real estate is about more than buying or selling property.

It’s about helping families find communities where they can grow, thrive, and access experiences that truly matter.

Programs like this are a reminder that:

The value of a community isn’t just in the homes.
It’s in the opportunities available to the families who live here.

And bringing something like Eyes Above The Horizon to Houston would be a game-changer.

For Families Who Want More for the Next Generation

Whether you’re a parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, mentor, educator, or someone who simply believes in showing up for the next generation, experiences like this matter.

Sometimes the people who help open doors for children are the people willing to step in, expose them to something new, and help fill the gaps when opportunities are not always easy to access.

That is what made this experience so meaningful for us—not only watching students participate, but seeing firsthand how powerful exposure can be when families and communities come together.

Watch the Experience

We had the opportunity to feature this experience on The American Dream TV—take a look at the full segment below.

Final Thought

Sometimes, all it takes is one experience…

One moment…

One opportunity…

To completely change the direction of a young person’s life.

And sometimes—

That moment starts in a cockpit.

Thinking About Moving to the Houston Area?

If you’re considering relocating to Humble, Atascocita, or the greater Houston area, we’d love to help you explore not just homes—but the lifestyle, community, and opportunities that come with them.
